House Of Kolor SHIMRIN Metallic
Color Bases (BC) are universal base coats that may
simply be cleared for a final finish, or be used as
a base coat for Kandy's. Contains standard flake at
90 microns in size. Due to their unique chemistry
make-up, they may be top coated with either acrylic
lacquer or urethane enamel. Please note : Solar Gold
and Orion Silver are available in Quarts and
Gallons. A basecoat is required before the
application of Pearl. They feature low build, fewer
coats, are easy to apply, and touch ups are easier
than ever. Use a Ko-Seal Primer of similar hue for a
uniform base. The Shimrin Metallic Color Bases work best
when applied over Ko-Seal II primer of similar hue.
- Mix 2 parts paint to 1
part RU series reducer (2:1)

Shimrin Universal Basecoat. A basecoat is required
before the application of Pearl. They feature low

similar hue for a uniform base. Available in the
same great 21 colors as our regular Kandy's.

House Of Kolor Shimrin METAJULS
Metallic Basecoats (MBC) are the largest of our metallic
basecoats, offering exceptional sparkle and
brightness. Available in three unique colors and
three different sizes (fine
flakes at 40 microns,
standard flake at 90 microns,
and coarse flake at 150 microns), they are an
excellent choice as a basecoat for Kandy finishes.
METAJULS Metallic Basecoats may also be clear coated
for a final finish. All three will make Kandy's have
exceptional sparkle in sunlight. A basecoat is
required before the application of Pearl. They
feature low build, fewer coats, are easy to apply,
and touch ups are easier than ever. Use a Ko-Seal
Primer of similar hue for a uniform base.
When used as a basecoat:
- MBC01 is used to make
bright dazzling Kandy colors.
- MBC02 is a medium color
used to slightly darken Kandy colors.
- MBC03 can be used to
make dark Kandy colors.
- MBC04 is used to
provide the most unique effect of the Metajuls
line providing a color changing pattern base to
put Kandy and other colors over.
- Mix 2 parts paint to 1
part RU series reducer (2:1)

any of our SHIMRIN‚ Universal Base Coats. Available

Kosmic Catalyst and Kosmic Reducer.

KV1 Kosmic Konvertor
is an additive for Shimrin® base coats and was
developed to effectively lower the VOC's of House of
Kolor's Shimrin® Base Coats to meet the VOC limits
of 3.5 lb / gal voc for SCAQMD Rule 1151 and SJVAQMD
Rule 4602 & 4612 Phase II. This is accomplished by
using low molecular weight urethane resins and
exempt solvents thereby increasing the solids of our
Shimrin® base coats and lowering the VOC to 3.5 lbs.
/ gal. or lower.
